Scholarship Opportunities

Yoga is a science of independence, freedom and complete well-being. Its empowering and liberating messages can make a difference to anyone in need.

The Usha Local Scholarship funds yoga teachers to bring yoga to their local school, hospital, nursing home, clinic for the terminally ill, battered woman's shelter, drug rehabilitation center, prison, after school program, among other venues. 

Help a battered women reconnect with her strength and power, a young adult follow his/her unique voice and path, a recovering drug addict regain independence and control, a child maintain youthful instincts and creativity, a prisoner feel a sense of freedom, an anorexic patient regain control over the shape and functioning of his/her body, an elderly or terminally ill patient connect with his/her eternal, deathless soul.  The list is endless as are the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga. 

This scholarship may also be used towards teaching the staff of schools and community organizations. 

Application for Usha Local Scholarship.

 The Usha Global Scholarship funds yoga teachers to bring yoga to remote areas of the world where qualified teachers have been requested to visit.  Areas in China and Brazil, for example, are looking for visiting teachers, but cannot afford to pay high prices.

 The Usha Teacher Training Scholarship funds yogis to attend teacher training programs. Scholarships are given to those yogis who are committed to teaching at least one class a week in a local community center (school, hospital, shelter, etc).
